While it cannot be denied that my remark, following a litany of hostile questions, was rather flippant, we cannot ignore the fact that our laws did not cause families to break up. Illegal aliens have brought it on themselves by breaking our immigration laws.
The fact that some of these illegal aliens have been here for many years is evidence that we have failed miserably to enforce our laws. They should be thankful that they were allowed to break our law with impunity, and prosper, for so many years, not resentful that their gravy train has finally come to an end.
It should also be pointed out that when illegal aliens are allowed to get away with breaking the law, it is a slap in the face of those of us who obeyed the law, waited our turn, and entered the United States in an orderly and lawful manner.
Those who claim to be staunch conservative Republicans should stand firm and not fall for this illegal immigration scam that masquerades as humanitarian concern.
