Tucson Still Playing Public, Cops In Prostitute Case

They are witholding all of the names of all of the infamous johns that frequented Tucson’s infamous brothel, but on Wednesday Tucson officials announced that 6 Tucson Police Department employees were served with a notice of disciplinary action on July 13, 2015.

According to a press release from the City, this was not a final determination of any discipline they may ultimately receive. “In accordance with the law, these employees are entitled to a seven day period of time to present information that might be relevant in mitigating that proposed discipline. At the conclusion of that seven day period, the Department will be able to announce the disposition,” reads the release.

The identities of the infamous johns will likely not be known becuase the County Attorney would never dare to bring charges against them.

Once any discipline becomes final, according to the release, the affected employees have appeal rights afforded by state law and Civil Service rules. During any appeal period, the Department is prohibited by A.R.S. 38-1109 from releasing any information regarding the administrative investigation.

The Department also served two additional employees with “Notice of Closure” on July 13, 2015, closing their internal investigations with a finding of “Unfounded.” Department General Orders defines “Unfounded” as, “the member did not commit the alleged violation.”

In a prior statement, City Attorney Mike Rankin confirmed two Department members resigned prior to the completion of the investigation. Those investigations resulted in a final disposition of “Termination.”

The City was careful to make public the fact that unnamed border patrol personnel, a cleric, a teacher, and firemen were involved, but has be careful to lump the infamous names in with public personalities who merely knew a property manager.
