McCain Will No Longer Seek Medical Care

Sen. John McCain’s office has announced no longer seek medical care. The Senator has been suffering from terminal cancer.

The McCain family issued the following statement:

Last summer, Senator John McCain shared with Americans the news our family already knew; he had been diagnosed with an aggressive glioblastoma, and the prognosis was serious. In the year since, John has surpassed expectations for his survival, but the progress of the disease and the inexorable advance of age rendered their verdict. With the usual strength of will and he has now chosen to discontinue medical treatment. Our family is immensely grateful for the support and kindness of his caregivers over the last year and for the continuing outpouring of concern and affection from John’s many friends and associates and the many thousands of people who are keeping them in his prayers.”

The Senator made the expected announcement just days before Arizona’s Primary Election. His camp has been advocating for his wife Cindy to be appointed to fill the remainder of his term by Governor Doug Ducey. With Ducey facing a primary challenge, he could not make that unpopular appointment.

The McCains have not been shy about their dislike of President Trump, but Arizonans were surprised that Ms. McCain would retweet a vulgar message about the Nation’s leader.

Sen. McCain has not been on Capitol Hill since before the Christmas break. He has ignored the pleas of Arizonans, who had hoped he would resign, in time for them to choose his replacement in a Special Election.
